WHAT IS TNVR?

The Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) program is a humane strategy aimed at managing an unowned cat population. This process involves trapping stray cats, spaying or neutering them to prevent further reproduction, vaccinating them against common diseases, and then returning them to their original habitats.

TNVR is crucial because it helps reduce the number of homeless cats, improves their health, and decreases the overall strain on local animal shelters. By controlling cat populations in a humane way, communities can create a healthier environment for both the cats and the residents.

CCAT Mission  Statement

Our goal is to manage the feral cat population in and around Columbia Borough in a humane/ethical way, through TNVR (trap, neuter, vaccinate and return), and to educate our community about feral and community cats.

Vision:

With our vision of a caring society where each animal receives dignity, we work to maintain an environment where feral and community cats can live without increasing their numbers and look for opportunities to rehome them when possible.

Values:    We are guided by our values:

Compassion: We demonstrate empathy and care for cats in everything we do.

Collaboration: We create partnerships with local businesses, volunteers, and organizations to further our mission.

Education: We share resources and raise awareness to promote responsible pet ownership, and support TNVR campaigns.

Respect: We treat every living creature with kindness and respect.
