MEET THE CCAT TEAM
All For The Love of Cats

   LORI, Master Trapper

Lori is the cat-whisperer extraordinaire!  She not only speaks "cat", she understands how they think, and what could keep them from entering the traps.  She visits the locations beforehand, identifies issues, and minimizes the barriers.  What you will frequently hear from Lori is "Wait, just one more cat"  Love you Lori!

  TOM, Master Trapper

Tom is the man!  He traps, feeds, transports, cleans-up, and does the final release back to the original location.  And does it all with a smile, and has the patience of a saint.  Quite often we hear from colony managers that he is so efficient, and careful with the cats.  We couldn't ask for a better CCAT Ambassador!

   EVAN, Trapper

Evan is very soft-spoken, but "always gets his cat".  He pulls up in his truck, sets his traps, waits patiently, and always comes back with the kitties. If you ask Evan what is the CCAT mantra, he will dutifully reply, "Don't Let The Cat Out Of The Trap".  What a great asset to our team.

   MARILYN, Social Media Manager

The term social-butterfly does not apply to Marilyn.  There is nothing flighty about Marilyn.  She is a warm, considerate and helpful individual.  She is out in the community often and is always willing to lend a hand.  She keeps Columbia alert to all the meetings and events when CCAT is participating.  If you want to know something, ask Marilyn!

   JULIE, Fundraising

If you want something done, give it to Julie!  Her schedule is so full as the current president of the Columbia Arbor Foundation, and yet she finds time to help CCAT raise funds for TNVR.  I'm pretty sure if she had time for a nap, she would take that nap in a tree,.

   JUDI, PM Transportation

Judi always peeks!  As a general rule of thumb, if you are transporting, you are handling all of the cats, and they are all adorable.  Most transporters do not peek as the cats are so adorable you want to take them all home.  So best not to peek.  But like I said, Judi always peeks, she also runs with scissors!

   JENN, Laundry

Laundry piles up quickly for CCAT and Jenn is always there to help us out.  3-4 loads per week is not an issue for her.  Each items comes back clean, sanitized and sweet smelling for the next kitty!  Thank you Jenn.

   LIZ, Scheduler

Liz is the team member who gets everyone to the right place at the right time!  No small feat given all the moving parts!  Colony managers, trappers, transporters, pre and post surgery care, and final release, quite a list,   Everyone needs to be on the same page at the same time, so constant communication is a necessity.  She is one bad-ass project manager.

BRUCE,  Greatest Need

When you sign up for a TNVR appointment Bruce is the first CCAT team member who sees your information.  He is responsible for getting you on the list so the scheduler can give you a call.  You may actually never speak to him, but without Bruce manning the intake information we would never connect.  When Bruce is not helping out the CCAT team you will find him volunteering at the Columbia Animal Shelter.   Way ta' go Bruce!

JOAN,  Greatest Need

Joan is a retired art instructor and has provided CCAT with some AWESOME cat art for resale at Columbia events.  She also frequently helps with morning transportation to TNVR appointments.  So, when she is not painting or driving for CCAT, you can find her at the Columbia Animal  Shelter volunteering to help acclimate cats into a family setting.  She is a one-person care team for so many non-profits! What did we do before Joan came along?  I don't know, but we are grateful to have her on our team.

WHAT IS TNVR?

The Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) program is a humane strategy aimed at managing an unowned cat population. This process involves trapping stray cats, spaying or neutering them to prevent further reproduction, vaccinating them against common diseases, and then returning them to their original habitats.

TNVR is crucial because it helps reduce the number of homeless cats, improves their health, and decreases the overall strain on local animal shelters. By controlling cat populations in a humane way, communities can create a healthier environment for both the cats and the residents.
